Checking and Replacing Fuses

The electrical fuses in your vehicle serve to switch off malfunctioning power circuits. If a fuse is blown, the components and systems secured by that fuse will stop operating. A defective fuse can be recognized by its melted wire. A new fuse should only be installed after the cause of the trouble has been located and eliminated. Only fuses of the specified rating should be installed.

Notice

  • Before replacing a fuse check that the key has been removed from the ignition and that all the services are switched off and/or disengaged.
  • Do not repair fuses and never replace a blown fuse with one that has a higher amp rating. This can cause damage to the electrical system and fire.
  • Never use anything else but a fuse.
  • Do not use anything metal to remove fuse.
  • If a fuse blows again contact a qualified service center.
